Rise and Fall of a City - ICT within Art

Rise and Fall of a City

Year 8 students designed and made their own ‘Psychedelic city’ by incorporating ICT into their Art lessons, with their Art teacher Miss. Brunniche.

Their project ‘The rise and fall of a city’ used ‘The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah’ painted in 1852, by John Martin, as a starting point. This painting is exhibited in the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle upon Tyne, as part of their permanent collection.

They then created an island and their own futuristic buildings. Once their city has risen from their imagination, it was named ‘Psychedelic city’. The students took great joy when watching half a terms work burn to the ground!
