Art Competitions

Doodle for Google Competition

Miss Brunniche and Mr Jones were inundated with entries to the Doodle for Google competition this summer. The students had to design a logo for the Google web page based on the theme My Future.

We had hundreds of entries! Well done everyone! Sadly Miss Brunniche could not send them all off as Google would only accept 6 from each school! So here are our runners up and winners.

Here are the winners’ names and titles of their designs, in no particular order…

Louis Bowes – Building the future.
Michaela Elliott – The nuts and bolts of the future.
Andrew Twigg – Google for the future.
Sophie Chamers – My interpretation of the apocalypse.
Kirsten Johnston – Future of Britain.
Gabrielle Dingwall – No title.

The next stage of the competition is for Google to select from the whole countries entries and then put their winners on their website in October. The general public will then vote for the overall winner!

AQA National Competition
Some Year 10 students from Harton Technology College volunteered to enter a national art competition this summer, set by AQA. They were asked to design a Christmas card and all the entries were excellent (see below).

Matthew Hartmann, now in Year 11, won the competition outright! Congratulations Matthew - on behalf of Harton Technology College!

Matthew has won a sum of money for himself and also the Art Department. He will also be having his design published. So, once again - well done Matthew for coming FIRST out of the whole country!
