Exam Results

In terms of the results, clearly we are delighted with the significant increase in the 5+ A* to C figure of 84%. However, the most important figure really is the 58% who achieved 5+ A* to C grades, including English and Maths. This is the figure which ought to be highlighted by the press and Government. I am pleased that Ofsted will now include the English and Maths in their new CVA figure in the autumn.

Our target figure was around 41% and early indications in January suggested we were on course to match that figure. However, due to the dedication and hard work of the students and staff that figure soared to 58% - an incredible increase. That means that 58% of our students now have access to a whole range of opportunities in terms of further and higher education.

In addition, 99% of our students acheived at least one GCSE at A* to C and for the fourth year running, 100% achieved at least one pass at A* to G.

I would like to thank the students, staff, parents and Governors for their tremendous efforts once again and reiterate the fact that I am extremely proud to be the headteacher of such a magnificent school. I look forward to this time next year when we hope to match or exceed these wonderful results and, of course, be able to offer 6th form education back at Harton!
