PERFORMING ARTS

The School Pantomime

Is held usually in the Easter Term over a three evening period -  the event also involves the staff and performers being involved in a number of out of school hours preparatory and rehearsal sessions

Christmas & Summer

Each of these are held on evening on an annual basis - they also involve a number of school hours preparatory and rehearsal sessions

Concerts + Rock Night

Remembrance Day & Harvest

Although these two events take place during the school day, a significant number of lunchtimes and after school sessions are spent rehearsing for the occasions

Rugby Tour

Held on an annual basis, lasting two to three weeks each. They involve Year 11 Rugby players

STUDY SUPPORT

Year 11 GCSE & GNVQ                    All departments offer revision facilities in all or some of the following formats:

revision.

a) revision sessions organised on an ad hoc basis during lunchtimes, after school and Sat mornings

b) on a more formal basis most departments offer full one day intensive revision workshops during the Easter &

   Whit holidays

Year 11 GCSE & GNVQ                     Some departments lay on out of school hours course work sessions for catch up or enhancement purposes

History Trip

Involves Year 9 & 10 students visiting important historical sites in France and Germany to support their understanding

of 20th Century history.

France Trip

Organised by the MFL department to support the Year 7 students understanding of the French language

Spain/Germany Trips

Each held on alternative years to support the Years 9 & 10 students understanding of the Spanish and German languages

respectively

Geography Field Trip

Held annually in the Summer  it involves a two day residential in the Lake District to support the delivery of GCSE Geography

Good Food Show Trip

A biannual visit to Birmingham to support the delivery of GCSE DT (Food)
