SAM Learning!

Dear Parent/Guardian

As you are aware, Harton Technology College are very committed to offering pupils every opportunity to develop their skills across all subjects to ensure success in their studies. Last year we invested in an online learning system called SAM Learning.

This system can be used by pupils in the following ways:
• Within lessons to support their learning
• As homework activities
• As a revision tool – either at home or in school
• As a method of revisiting topics

This is an exciting support system offered by the school and we hope that it will prove to be valuable to all pupils. It is claimed by SAM Learning that pupils can improve their GCSE grade with 10 hours of extra study time using this on-line learning system. There are over 240 hours of ready made on-line testing materials available for GCSE pupils.

There are also Key Stage 3 materials available for Maths, English, Science, ICT and Design & Technology.

Staff will use this new system in a variety of ways, your son/daughter may be asked to complete a task for homework or activities may be completed within the lessons. If on-line homework is issued but your son/daughter is unable to access the system from home, your son/daughter will be advised to use the Learning Centre.

Your son/daughter has been issued with an individual logon account. As with all account details, it is important that this information is kept confidential.
