Dear Parent

Year 9 and 10 students are being given an opportunity to attend a sports day at Monkton Stadium, Jarrow, on Thursday 6 th July 2006. Your son/daughter will be transported to and from the venue by coach as a competitor. Only competitors will be present at the above venue.

May I take this opportunity to remind your child that the highest standard of behaviour is expected at all times.

Transport details are as follows :

Depart 9.00 a.m. Harton Technology College , ( Lisle Road entrance)

Return to Harton Technology College approximately 3.15 p.m.

Food details are as follows :

It is recommended that students take a packed lunch. If any student normally receives free school meals, a packed lunch will be provided for them. There is a stadium shop where the following can be purchased – soft and hot drinks, mix-ups coupled with a vending machine offering crisps and chocolate.

Students must wear school uniform but be prepared for cold weather and rain. I would also point out that students should not bring ipods, expensive items or wear jewellery.

Can parents please make sure that the PE department is made aware of any medical information relating to their child.

Dear Parent

As you may be aware, Year 10 students have their Parents' Evening at Harton Technology College on Thursday 29 th June from 3:30 pm onwards.

Your son/daughter should already have brought home an invitation and should also be making appointments for you to speak to subject staff. This letter is a final reminder about the event and perhaps the first notification for some!

We would urge all parents to attend the consultation evening on Thursday if at all possible.

Re: Year 10 Parents' Evening – Thursday 29 th June 2006

I should like to extend to you a warm invitation to visit the school on Thursday 29 th June between 3.30 pm and 6.00 pm, when you will have the opportunity to discuss your son's or daughter's work and progress with members of staff who teach students in Year 10.

If you would like to come to consult any members of staff, please ask your son or daughter to arrange an appointment for you; cards on which appointment times should be recorded will be issued to students. If any particular time is unsuitable for you, perhaps you would pass on the information at home before any appointments are arranged.

Consultations will be allocated at five-minute intervals; in the interests of all concerned, it would be appreciated if everyone would adhere closely to the timetabled appointments. If you require an interview longer than five minutes, please do not hesitate to contact the school to arrange an appointment. It would clearly be of great benefit to your child, to yourself and to the school, if you could attend.

I should be grateful if you would complete the section below and return it to your son's or daughter's Form Tutor as soon as possible please.
