Activities

Both recreational and competitive clubs are offered to pupils. This is a great way to meet new people, try out new sports and represent Harton in a team situation. Charity activities are also held here at Harton.

HTSA Launch

Harton Technology College was designated as a Teaching School by the National College in July 2011; one of only five secondary schools in the north east and one of only fifty six secondary schools in the country, to receive this new designation.

Music Concerts

Music is a powerful, unique form of communication that can change the way students feel, think and act. Our students take part in "on-stage" concerts through out-the year.

Proms

Over the years our school leavers have danced in some of the regions most exclusive hotels. The Prom Night is an event that staff and students look forward to.

We were delighted to welcome Right Honourable David Miliband, MP for South Shields and Niall Quinn (MBE) to the official opening of the refurbished traditional school building.

South Shields Lecture

We are proud to host the South Shields Annual Lecture with guest speakers such as Patrick Stewart, Lord Peter Mandelson, Bill Bryson, Jo Brand and many more to come.

Broadening the horizons of young people is an important part in the education of everyone. Harton has traditionally had a number of school visits abroad and at home, here are photos of a few.
