Prom Night
Harton Technology College has a tradition of Prom Nights. Over the years our school leavers have danced in some of the regions most exclusive hotels. The Prom Night is an event that staff and students look forward to - not only for dressing up and really pushing the boat out with Harton finesse but also as it is a time to celebrate the time that our young people have spent with us and more sadly a time to say goodbye.
2007: Location - Hallgarth Manor Hotel
28th July 2007
We booked our prom at the same venue as last year, after seeing the lovely photos of the pupils strolling in the sunshine through the beautiful and extensive grounds of Hallgarth Manor. Alas and alack the weather was not as kind to us. Although the rain could not dampen the spirits of our party goers, there were some anxious thoughts about dresses, hair, make up as the heavens opened just after five p.m (the buses were due at six). It eased off enough to let proud parents take hundreds of photos of their fabulous looking sons and daughters.
Photos, videos, dancing and a good dinner were to follow. Every pupil and member of staff had a thoroughly good time, and all too soon the coaches were waiting to take us home. Bus 2 had an extra ‘treat’ as Mr Brooks-in Frank Sinatra mode-serenaded us all the way home.
I can’t wait for next year’s extravaganza after seeing the great music video of us all ’singing ‘ along to Katrina and the Waves

2006: Location - Hallgarth Manor Hotel
2005: Location - Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham
Mr Chesborough (again!!) and his year group (formerly Mr Clayton's year group) had a magnificent time at the Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham. Everyone looked splendid in their dinner suits and glamorous dresses and the whole evening was a complete success as we danced the night away - including a few dances to the unexpected musical selections made by Mr Chesborough!! Oh what a night!!!

2004: Location - Lumley Castle in County Durham
Mr Chesborough and his year group had an amazing evening at Lumley Castle in County Durham. The location was perfect as all of the students and staff enjoyed an evening of good food, dancing and a lot of reflection over the five years that had gone before this wonderful event!
