End of School Day |
The school spends 25 hrs. teaching in a normal week (DfES recommend 24 hrs).
Assemblies
These are held daily in the school hall, although each day two year groups remain with their
Form Tutors, and one year group meets with its Year Tutor in the Community/Dining Room.
Formal assemblies are required by the Education Act (1988). They seek to provide a spiritual
dimension to the day and have the characteristics of:
- Contemplation
- Celebration
- and Community
They are mainly Christian in their teaching and should lead students to
reflect upon their daily lives, relationships and responsibilities. If parents wish, their children
can be withdrawn from assemblies and RE lessons.
